How To Make It In America

February 25, 2010

If any of you are like me, you’ve been wondering when HBO is going to put out the new season of Entourage. Its been a while since anything I looked forward to watching was on HBO Sunday nights. But fear not, HBOs new show, How To Make It In America, is being referred to as the “East coast Entourage.”

The show follows two friends in their twenties as they hustle their way around New York City trying to make it big. This is slightly different than Entourage however, because while Entourage shows the glamor of the celebrity lifestyle in LA, How To Make It In America shows the struggle of getting there.

The shows do have some similarities though. How To Make It In America comes from the same team who created Entourage like producers Stephen Levinson, Rob Weiss, and Mark Whalberg. The two shows also share director Julian Farino.

Also, for any music fans out there, How To Make It In America has a great soundtrack and even stars the popular rapper Kid Cudi . Cudi plays a well connected friend of the shows two main characters.

Through the first few episodes, How To Make It In America hasn’t been as exciting as the crazy lifestyle they portray in Entourage, but is definitely a good show to tune in to on Sunday night, at least until Entourage comes back.

Last Tuesday the popular ABC drama LOST returned for their sixth and final season. The show is known for the mysterious events that occur to the people who landed on an island when their commercial flight crashed on the way from Australia to Los Angeles. There has been a lot of speculation as to how the shows creators Jeffery Lieber, J.J. Abrams, and Damon Lindelof would be able to wrap up all the questions that surround the show without disappointing their die hard fans. If anyone has seen the show, they know how extreme the twists and turns of LOST can be. Although it may seem something definite has occurred on the island, like the death of main character, it doesn’t necessarily mean we won’t be seeing that character again in the future.

Episodes of LOST will flashback to the characters lives before there crash on the island, flash forward to what seems to be there lives after finally getting off the island, and there current state on the island which creates confusion for its fans, especially those who miss an episode. The show has created such buzz with its fans online that people are constantly blogging about their opinions of how the show is going to end and the true meaning behind what the island is. If anyone watches the show, they know all the questions that need to be answered to fulfill there expectations. For those who don’t watch the show and decide to start watching now, you’ll be really be lost and have no idea what is going on.
